My name is Monica Yvonne , having been born in Bondo subcounty, Siaya county. I am 17 years old, right now in Kisumu girls high school (national school) going to form four.

In primary school I managed to gather 396 marks out of the possible 500 marks at Bondo township primary school where I emerged to be the top girl.

I am doing my best so that I get a chance to go to Stanford university.
I am a very hardworking, honest, obedient and academically motivated individual. I aspire to become a doctor specializing in contagious diseases because most of these diseases are the leading cause of death and morbidity in the country.

My career vision of wanting to become a doctor is highly inspired by the situation of the unfortunate people in the society who are unable to get quality health care due to their financial instability and also to empower young girls and boys by the fact that they are the eye of the next generation.

I believe that I will become great one day by venturing into my education and achieving my dream career.

I further hope that by achieving my career will be of great help to the community and the society at large. My hobbies are reading, playing volleyball, singing and drawing.

I love reading adventure books as they bring out the world’s victorious episodes where the impossible are always possible, I find this very encouraging and it makes me to believe that in every hard situation there is an exit and a victory waiting for the enduring person.

I used to play volleyball for our school team and we managed to reach county competition in Siaya.

I love listening to cool music and Gospel music because of their inspiring messages that God will always come through every time in need.

I aIso like going for nature walks so as to enjoy the environment and have some peaceful time alone. What have learnt from my hobbies is that through reading I get different perspective of life, mostly improve the way I interact with people, by engaging in volleyball as game I must be very disciplined and keen in order to achieve my goals and through music we can be spiritually motivated and also makes your body feel relaxed.

Drawing as a talent, helps me express how or what I feel on a piece of sheet. I also believe that with discipline we can achieve our goals.
